Are you immune to change?

Let’s hope not, we’ve got so much to do, ways to grow, and joy to have through changing for the better every day. And just to make sure, this month I am inviting you to a Change Challenge!

Whether we are a fan of New Year’s Resolutions or not, a growth mindset can set unleash our potential, create new opportunities and support our impact. And while it’s the season for reflection and dreaming up what’s next, why not ensure our personal readiness for change matches up to our aspirations for it?

This Change Challenge was inspired by An Everyone Culture: Becoming a Deliberately Developmental Organization, and one if its frameworks, Immunity to Change Maps. This framework helps us take on the questions to what extent are we immune to the change we seek? And, what can we do to reflect with more attention to achieving our growth goals?

Accompanied by two inspiring change agents, Rebecca Gasper and Clintel Hasan, I will share a new step in the Change Challenge process, our personal examples and look to hear from you on how your own reflection is going.

Let’s dive in! First step: Create your catalytic growth goal.

Answer the question, “What improvement would make the biggest difference in my life, my potential and my impact?”

Brainstorm some ideas, and then make sure you land on a goal that:

  • Is about getting better at something – and not itself be a result or an outcome.

  • Is affirmative – what WILL you do?

  • Feels quite important to you! You want to realize something that is personally valuable, desirable or powerful!

  • Is something you have not yet accomplished or turned the corner on – let’s give ourselves room for future growth here!

  • Will definitely build YOU up as you get better – this is about how you live, think and behave.

I am committed to being fully present in each moment.
— Rebecca Gasper
I want to invest in and celebrate my growth without guilt.

I am committed to living fully in a mindset of, “Life offers neither problems nor challenges, only opportunities.

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca currently works as a clinical research education and lives in downtown Milwaukee. Rebecca’s background is in Public Health and one of her main motivators in life is to help others accomplish their goals of adopting a healthy lifestyle, however that may look for each individual. Sports were a key part of Rebecca’s life growing up and she continues to be involved in the volleyball community both through officiating and playing. In Rebecca’s free time I enjoy going for walks outside, reading, and spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes.
